Carbon Sequestration

Carbon sequestration, also known as carbon capture, is the process of absorbing and storing carbon (CO₂) from the atmosphere.

What is carbon sequestration?

Carbon sequestration, also known as carbon capture, is the process of absorbing and storing carbon (CO₂) from the atmosphere. There are various methods of carbon sequestration, such as natural sequestration, which involves storing carbon in forests, soils, and oceans. For instance, when organic material decomposes in the soil, it forms stable carbon compounds that can remain in the soil for long periods of time.

In Regenerative Agriculture, practices like improved crop rotation and organic fertilisation enhance carbon sequestration in the soil. This makes soil a potent tool in combating climate change.
