Better loan terms for your farm
To qualify, you need a verified Klimabilanz, a report that calculates your farm’s greenhouse gas emissions based on key operational data such as livestock, fertiliser, and energy use.
Klim prepares the required climate balance and provides a verified PDF document ready for submission to your bank.

Rentenbank offers a subsidy program called “Zuschussprogramm zur Klimabilanz für Ihr landwirtschaftliches Unternehmen.”
It funds the preparation of a Klimabilanz and grants a 0.25% interest rate reduction on eligible loans through your house bank.
Klim prepares the required Klimabilanz
The total cost of the Klimabilanz is €990.
Rentenbank funds €891.
Your contribution is €99.
After completing your Klimabilanz, you receive a verified PDF document.
You submit this document to your house bank.
If your loan qualifies under the program, the bank applies the fixed 0.25% interest rate reduction.
Agricultural businesses planning to take out a loan are eligible. Participation is independent of legal form, tax classification, and whether you farm full-time or part-time.
Currently, Klim supports arable and dairy farms.
A completed Klimabilanz includes:
- All required farm operational data
- All currently cultivated crops
- For dairy farms: the dairy questionnaire
Klim checks submissions for plausibility and common input errors before issuing the verified document.
You must first apply directly with Rentenbank before
March 13 at 12:00 noon.
After approval, you complete your Klimabilanz with Klim.
The loan and interest reduction are handled through your house bank.
Absolutely. You can apply for the interest rate reduction without a specific loan in mind.
Yes.
In addition to qualifying for the interest reduction, your Klimabilanz can also be used for discussions with partners, sustainability programs, or future reporting requirements.
